When:  2nd Friday of schoolyear months, 6-8:30pm
What:  Theme-based monthly respit care - parents' night out

We are excited to hear from our very good friend Jennicca and Heidi about this important topic.

What is rEcess?
99 Balloons began rEcess, which is a respite night for families with children with disabilities and their siblings. Many times parents never get a break because of the medical needs of their child, which can be very overwhelming. The divorce stats for couples that have a child with special needs are VERY high- nearly 90%.
One of our goals is to hopefully create some normalcy for the siblings as well, with the intent to eventually create a type of support group. Siblings are often very overlooked and can feel isolated because all of the attention is typically focused on their sibling. There can be a lot of acting out when they are teens due to confusion on the complexity of their feelings and we strongly feel creating a support group will create a safe outlet with peers who understand.
